PART TIME : Entrepreneur
Vir2L Holdings (PTY) Ltd
After seeing a real need in the transaction banking industry for high volume file format conversions; I had a desktop application developed which converts source data in excel, CSV, or text formats into the processing format/s and layouts required by the 3rd party processing vendors. I designed the infrastructure, managed the development of the application -and have been successfully improving on it and selling it from a custom-built, database-driven, secure website. I named it the "Vir2L Converter" ('virtual converter') as it virtually converts any source data to a format required by a 3rd party processing vendor with no computer -or programming knowledge on the part of the user. This was a part-time hobby and was designed so well that I did not even spend 10 minutes a year on supporting it. With over 300 installations the application ran itself and still is a huge success. All sales and marketing are driven via online/social media marketing campaigns. The Vir2L Converter intellectual property rights and software was sold in 2018, rebranded -and is today available from Netcash as part of their customer offering adding huge value, saving time, and increasing profitability.
Vir2L Holdings (PTY) still continues to operate on a freelance basis offering professional systems architecture, design, development, branding, and support services based on our many years of custom-built online, mobile application, and desktop software experience in various industries. -

The BEEEG Charity drive
This was a part-time volunteer function at no remuneration. I started -and successfully managed a non-profit charity organization that collected toiletries and funding for Die Herberg Children's Home in Robertson (www.herberg.co.za). We did annual motorbike rallies to the Children's Home and spent a day with the kids. The main aim was to deliver much-needed toiletries, clothes, and toys to children in the community who were less fortunate. The organization received national exposure on television (SABC news), radio, and several newspaper and magazine articles that were published every year. It was mainly supported by the Think Bike NPO but we also received support from KFM radio, SABC news, local businesses, and the general public. It was a huge success and very gratifying to be able to help less fortunate children (and adults) in the community.
